Dental health is one of the most overlooked aspects of pet care – yet it’s one of the most important. Plaque and tartar buildup can lead to bad breath, gum disease, tooth decay, and in severe cases, infections that affect your pet’s heart, liver, and kidneys. We will advise whether your pet requires more invasive treatment but the younger we start the better the chance of staying ahead.
We offer a teeth-brushing service as an add-on to any grooming appointment, using Kyron enzymatic toothpaste specifically formulated for pets. It’s a simple step that helps reduce plaque buildup, freshens breath, and supports healthier gums between veterinary dental checks. All toothbrushes are thoroughly sanitised after every use, though clients are welcome to bring their own toothbrush if preferred.
A note for moms and dads: a monthly brush during grooming is a great start, but on its own it won’t be enough to combat plaque buildup. For real prevention, regular brushing at home (ideally 2-3 times per week) or veterinary scaling is essential (unfortunately this involves anaesthetic). Think of our service as one piece of a dental care routine – not the whole puzzle.
If your pet hasn’t had their teeth brushed before, don’t worry – we introduce it gently and work at their pace. Regular brushing during grooms can make a real difference over time, especially for smaller breeds that are prone to dental issues.
